About the Creator

Amanda Grose has a Masters in Teaching. She has taught elementary school for over 10 years and has published children's books and a fantasy novel. She has seen first hand how much students need to have better reading skills across the curriculum. Increased reading skills can be accomplished by instilling a love of reading in children. Animookites was born from the idea of finding a way to get children to want to read while exploring Game Programming , and the Robotics and Embedded Systems and program at UAT.  Using Autodesk inventor, blender, and the M5StickC, Amanda created her first animal booklight, a dragon. She hopes to add more functions to the booklight, give it even more of a "brain," bring life to a booklight that would bring the joy of reading to children.
